The collapse of Gallat in the wake of the rebellion of the League of Gallasa left a power vacuum in the eastern lands of the former empire. Into the void stepped an ambitious general, who created a military governorship on the ashes of the old eastern provinces. Defeating various other warlords, he united Tarena, but the new state stagnated shortly thereafter. Despite various border wars, the state developed little until the arrival of Savirai warriors, prompting the states' conversion to Eastern Aitahism. This new religion fueled a conflict against the Gallasenes, one which rapidly spiraled out of control when the Savirai Empire and Karapeshai Exatai joined the fray. After the withdrawal of the Savirai from the region, Tarena fell completely to the League, and is now a peripheral province once more.
