The Sephashim (or "New Learning" in Satar) was a vast building in Atracta, its construction begun under the first few years of the reign of the Redeemer Avetas. Inspired by the libraries of the Tribe of the Scroll, burned with the sack of Kargan, the Sephashim would go beyond a simple library -- though it would also house the largest collection of books in the known world. In addition, the Sephashim would house the largest collection of scholars in the Karapeshai Exatai, learned men of every discipline, as well as lecture halls, quiet gardens, fountains, and classrooms. Its architecture was modeled on but surpassed that of the ancient Matraxas, burned at Magha -- spectacular tiered domes rising one above the other.
