The Satar Calendar is one of the two primary dating systems used by the majority of the cradle. It is dated from the forging of the mask of Arastephas, the first Redeemer of the Satar peoples. Its starting date corresponds to the Seshweay Calendar year 111 SR. It is a solar calendar.
The Calendar itself divides the year's 365 days into three seasons of 122 days apiece. The season of Growing, or Nalvim, the season of Reigning, or Kestim, and the season of Fading, or Dexim. These correspond to the rainy season, the grazing season, and the dry season that dominated much of the Rath Satar.
