Spitos (or "the Spice Isle") sits between the Kbrilma Sea, the Cyntal Sea, and the main body of the Nakalani. Home to the Opulensi peoples, Spitos is a center of civilization from ancient times; its location in between three seas giving it a key position in the trade network of the northern Nakalani. Moreover, the relatively warm climate has allowed the cultivation of dozens of different types of spices, including a variety of peppercorns and curries. These valuable trade commodities have ensured the wealth of the island's peoples for centuries. The recent addition of Linen to this list turbocharged the rebuilding economy.
Spitos contains dozens of superb harbors, particularly on the west and the northeast coasts; the southern coast east of Ormiskos is mostly rocky and storm-battered, though an enormous, sheltered bay at Undia provides a safe haven there. The center of the island is somewhat rugged. Plains extend from there to the west coast, heavily farmed by the Opulensi, the river eventually meeting the sea at the city of Kalos. The northern end of the island is dominated by a series of ridges, terminating at the peninsula of New Kalos. Climatologically speaking, the southern half of the island is a fairly wet, subtropical environment; the north experiences much drier weather.
