The Dulama Highlands are a vast complex of hills and mountains located at head of the River Abrea. The largest and most important city of the highlands is Dula, the ancestral home and capital of the Dulama Empire for which the region is named. Other cities in the highlands include Nechta, Tara and Anraugh. Although the geography of the highlands is rough, they have become highly developed, and broad roads run between the major cities. This has caused problems for the people of the highlands as well, as they are no longer easily defensible, as they once were. In particular, the Kingdom of Dula, a successor state of the Dulama Empire, was unable to resist the invading Vithanama Empire when they attempted to wage guerilla war in the highlands. Still, the immense wealth of the region makes it a great prize, and it is a central region for trade between east and west.
