One of the oldest and most disparate people in the annals of civilization, the Arta Xorti originated on the island of Baharr in prehistoric times. Traditionally a fishing and pastoralist people, they founded numerous colonies across the Kbirilma Sea, and widely propagated their religion of Indagahor to various neighboring peoples. Over the centuries, independent Arta Xorti states all but disappeared: most were absorbed into the Opulensi Empire, while the last Arta Xorti polity of any significance, the Nahari Empire, capitulated to the Savirai Empire in 296 SR. With the reemergence of an independent Nahari Empire after the Peregrination, time will tell if they will look to revive their Arta Xorti roots or not.
